Fun Facts about Plumbing

Did you know that people use the bathroom six to seven times per day? We brush our teeth, we wash our hands, we bathe and use the toilet. So, it’s easy to see why we may take plumbing for granted. It’s as easy as bringing water into your home and sending waste water our of your home. The fun fact about plumbing, is we simply take it for granted!

Sure, plumbing has a long history. It was the mid-1600s when the first citywide water system was developed and it was in 1767 when the first mechanical shower was taken. And it was 1815 when the water safety measures began. And in 1855 the first sewer system was completed.

But it wasn’t until 1984 when pressure-assist toilets offered an eco-friendly option to traditional gravity toilets was created. It will be interesting to see what the next few centuries have in store!

That’s why its so important to take care of your plumbing. One leaky faucet that drips just once per second can waste more than 3,000 gallons of water per year! Imagine what you could do with 3,000 gallons of water if you stored it.

Maybe those gallons of water could be used to clean public bathrooms! If not, just know, statistically speaking, the first stall in a public restroom is the cleanest because it is used the least.
